How to choose a scissor lift height

A scissor lift is rated by platform height; add roughly two metres for the working height a technician can reach. We supply platforms from 8 metres for interior ceilings and services, through 10, 12 and 14 metres for warehouses and façades, up to 16, 18 and 20 metres for industrial halls and large venues.

Electric scissor lifts suit level floors inside buildings and produce no exhaust; open construction sites with uneven ground need a diesel rough-terrain unit on large tyres. Tell us the working height, the ground surface and how many people will be on the platform, and we will size it.

What is the difference between a scissor lift and a man lift?

A scissor lift raises a wide platform straight up over its base and carries several technicians with their tools; a man lift reaches out horizontally or over obstacles with a boom, but with a smaller basket.

Can a scissor lift be used inside a finished building?

Yes. Electric units on non-marking tyres are used on finished floors in malls, hospitals and offices.

Does the operator need a licence?

Operators must be trained on aerial work platforms. We provide certified operators on request, or hand over the machine after a briefing on operation and safety.
