How to work out the crane capacity a lift needs

A crane's rated capacity (25, 50, 100 tons…) is the maximum load at its shortest radius, and it drops quickly as the load moves further from the crane or higher up. Three numbers therefore decide the choice together: the weight of the load, the horizontal distance from the crane position to the lift point, and the height required. We supply cranes from 7 to 500 tons.

Medium loads inside the city — tanks, chiller units, light steel — usually need a 25 to 50 ton crane. Precast bridge girders, large vessels and factory equipment call for 100 to 250 tons, and industrial and power projects go up to 300, 400 and 500 tons. Send us a plan or a photo of the site with the weight of the heaviest piece and we will prepare the lift study.

Frequently asked questions

Does the hire include the operator and rigger?

Yes. The crane arrives with a licensed operator and a trained rigger for slinging and signalling, and a lift supervisor is provided for critical lifts.

What do you need from me before the lift?

The load weight and dimensions, the pick and set-down points, the ground conditions (to decide on outrigger mats), and the working hours if the site is in a residential district.

Are cranes available outside Jeddah?

Yes. We serve Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, Dammam, Yanbu and the rest of the Kingdom; mobilisation is included in the quote.
