Crane 120 Ton Rental in Jeddah

The 120-ton crane is a five-axle all-terrain machine whose boom reaches roughly 55–66 m. It is booked when the load has to go over an existing building or land at a long radius the 100-ton chart cannot cover with enough margin.

About the 120-ton crane

At 120 tons the crane moves into the five-axle class: longer on the road than a four-axle 100-ton machine and needing more room to turn at the site gate. In return it gains a longer boom and more counterweight, which keep useful capacity at 30–35 m, a common radius when lifting from the street into the depth of a site boxed in by buildings.

Before booking, check the crane's route in: gate width, turns inside the site, overhead power lines and bridge clearances on the approach road. A five-axle crane steers on several axles to tighten its turning circle, but it still needs more width than an ordinary truck. A photo of the entrance and a site map sent on WhatsApp saves a day of surprises.

What a 120-ton crane is hired for

  • Lifting over existing buildings

Places equipment behind a building or into an enclosed courtyard with a boom long enough to clear the front roof.

  • Long-span factory steel

Erects long steel trusses for factories and halls where each piece is both heavy and far out.

  • Electrical substations

Sets transformers and high-voltage equipment on their plinths from outside the fence when the crane may not enter the yard.

  • Replacing plant on high roofs

Swapping chillers and generators on existing hospitals and hotels needs reach and height a 100-ton struggles to give.

  • Industrial tanks and vessels

Lifts mid-size horizontal and vertical tanks onto their saddles at fuel depots and plants.

Is the 120-ton crane the right size?

  • Smaller size100-ton crane — If the crane can stand close to the landing point with no obstacles, a 100-ton crane is easier to bring in and is usually enough.
  • Larger size150-ton crane — Pieces of tens of tons at a mid radius call for the 150-ton crane's chart to keep the lift within a safe margin.

120-ton crane rental questions

Will a 120-ton crane fit through an ordinary site gate?
The crane is about as wide as a large truck, roughly 3 m, but it is longer and turns wider. A straight gate 4–5 m wide is usually enough; what normally stops it is a tight turn immediately inside the gate.
What can a 120-ton crane do that a 100-ton cannot?
Mostly, hold capacity at long radius: with a longer boom and more counterweight, the 120-ton keeps more capacity at 30 m and beyond. In return it has an extra axle and a wider turning circle, so it is chosen only when the lift calls for it.
How many trucks come with a 120-ton crane?
Usually one support truck if the lift needs the full counterweight, and possibly none for lighter lifts. A folding jib normally travels on the crane; extra lattice sections, if required, come on the support truck, depending on the model.
Does a 120-ton crane need a road closure?
If it stands on a public road, part of the road is usually closed while the outriggers are out and the lift is made, which needs coordination with the city authorities. Mention it when you ask, as a night or weekend lift can shorten the closure.
