Crane 80 Ton for rent in Jeddah

Crane 80 Ton Rental in Jeddah

The 80-ton crane is the first of the heavy four-axle all-terrain sizes: a boom of roughly 47–60 m and more capacity at mid radius, for taller buildings, structural steel and tower-crane erection where a 50-ton runs out.

About the 80-ton crane

What separates an 80-ton crane from a 50-ton is not the close-in lift, since both handle heavy pieces near the crane, but how much capacity is left at 20 or 25 m. The boom is longer, the counterweight heavier and the outrigger spread wider, about 7–8 m. It is usually a four-axle all-terrain crane that drives on the highway at truck speed and can move short distances across unpaved site ground.

A common mistake is booking a 50-ton crane for a mid-weight piece because the number looks ample, then finding on site that a 25 m radius takes the lift off the chart. At this size the crane may carry only part of its counterweight, with the rest following on a support truck when the lift needs it, so give the radius accurately and the crane can be sent with the right set-up.

What a 80-ton crane is hired for

  • Mid-size tower crane erection

Lifts mast sections, jib and counterweight blocks of a tower crane to heights a 50-ton cannot reach with enough capacity.

  • Multi-story structural steel

Places beams 20 m or more from the standing point on buildings the crane cannot get close to.

  • Precast parking structures

Erects precast beams and hollow-core planks on multi-story parking garages and commercial buildings.

  • Transformers and switchgear

Moves medium transformers from the trailer into substation bays where the crane cannot stand close.

  • Pedestrian bridges

Lifts light pedestrian-bridge sections over the road during a short night closure.

Is the 80-ton crane the right size?

  • Smaller size50-ton crane — If the pieces are lifted close in and to a moderate height, a 50-ton crane does it and carries all of its counterweight with it.
  • Larger size100-ton crane — If the lift sits near the edge of the 80-ton chart at the radius you need, a 100-ton crane gives a wider safety margin.

80-ton crane rental questions

Does an 80-ton crane need a separate counterweight truck?
Not always. Many lifts are done with the counterweight the crane carries on the road, but heavy lifts at long radius may need the full counterweight, part of which then comes on a support truck. The weight and radius you send make that clear.
Is an 80-ton crane enough to erect a tower crane?
For many small and mid-size tower cranes, yes, provided the heaviest component is within the load chart at the height and radius required. Send the tower crane's erection manual or its component weights and we will check before you book.
Can an 80-ton crane drive on an unpaved site?
An all-terrain crane is built to travel short distances on compacted, unpaved ground, but not on loose sand or steep slopes. If the access road is dirt, make sure it is compacted and free of holes before the crane arrives.
Is an 80-ton crane a truck crane or an all-terrain?
You will find both in this class, but the all-terrain is more common at 80 tons: multi-axle steering helps it through tight turns and across site ground. A truck crane travels like a heavy truck and suits paved sites. Either way, the load chart decides whether it suits the lift.
