About the tower light

A tower light, also called a lighting tower or light tower, is a self-contained unit: a telescopic mast raised hydraulically or by hand winch to 7–9 m, four LED heads of roughly 300–400 W each, and a small diesel generator of about 6–8 kVA. Older models use four 1,000 W metal-halide lamps, which burn far more fuel and need a warm-up before reaching full brightness. The heads rotate and tilt to aim light onto the work area.

We rent tower lights in Jeddah and deliver to any city in Saudi Arabia. To work out how many you need, send the size of the area and the type of work: general lighting for a yard or car park is very different from close work such as concrete pours or welding, which needs more light. The tower sits on level ground with its outriggers out before the mast goes up, and on remote sites it saves running temporary cable over long distances.

What a tower light is hired for

  • Night concrete pours in summer

Many contractors pour at night to avoid the heat, and the tower lights the pour area and pump route for the whole shift.

  • Road and bridge works

Tows easily along the route and the mast goes up in minutes, keeping pace with the crew from one section to the next.

  • Events and temporary parking

Lights event grounds and overflow car parks with no need to run grid power to them.

  • Plant shutdowns and night maintenance

Lets crews work around the clock on a shut-down unit, shortening the outage.

  • Emergencies and site security

Fast light during power cuts or incidents, and perimeter lighting for sites and yards at night.

Tower light rental questions

How much area does one tower light cover?
A four-head LED tower usually lights about 3,000–5,000 m² to a general level fit for movement and ordinary work. Detailed tasks need more light, so towers go closer together or in greater numbers. Send a site plan or aerial photo and we will suggest how many and where.
How many nights will a tower light run on one tank of diesel?
On LED, a tank usually lasts 50–100 hours or more depending on the model, roughly four to eight 12-hour nights without refilling. Metal-halide towers burn much more and need refilling sooner. Check fuel and oil every few days.
LED or metal-halide tower light?
LED heads light instantly, burn much less fuel and give off less heat. Metal-halide lamps take several minutes to reach full output, and once switched off they will not restrike until they cool. For most jobs LED is the better fit, especially with frequent on-off use.
Can a tower light stay up in wind and dust storms?
The tower is braced on outriggers and handles normal site wind, and each model has a maker's wind limit for the raised mast. When a dust storm or strong wind arrives, lower the mast fully, and never set the tower up under overhead power lines.
Do I need an operator for the tower light every night?
Running it is simple: raise the mast, aim the heads, start the generator, and many models have a timer or light sensor that switches on at dusk. An operator is available on request; we carry out scheduled maintenance during the rental and send a replacement unit if one fails, with 24/7 service.
