About the 26 m man lift (boom lift)

At this size the two boom types pull apart. The telescopic version reaches out roughly 20–22 m; the articulating one manages about 16–18 m but climbs over taller obstacles. Weight jumps to around 14–17 t and the machine is about 2.4–2.5 m wide in travel position, so in most cases it arrives on a lowbed.

If the job is on the face of an occupied building, tell us how wide the sidewalk or service lane is where the machine will stand. The telescopic boom at this size is long even when stowed, and the counterweight needs clear space to swing behind the turntable. In tight residential streets the articulating version is easier to place despite its shorter reach.

What a 26 m man lift (boom lift) is hired for

  • Cladding installation and repair

The telescopic covers a long elevation with fewer moves because the basket reaches far to each side.

  • Connecting steel on tall industrial buildings

Puts the bolting crew at column and beam connections above 20 m while the crane holds the member.

  • Dome maintenance

The articulating boom works around the curve of a dome and reaches its top without scaffolding around the building.

  • Storage-tank inspection and coating

Covers the shell height of a large storage tank from outside and moves around it on the facility roads.

Is the 26 m man lift (boom lift) the right size?

  • Smaller size24 m man lift (boom lift) — If the work stays under about 22 m and the machine can get close, a 24 m man lift is lighter and easier to move.
  • Larger size28 m man lift (boom lift) — If the top of the job is above 24 m, or you need big outreach and height at the same time, move to the 28 m man lift.

26 m man lift (boom lift) rental questions

Is a 26 m man lift the same as an 80 ft boom lift?
Usually, yes. The 80 ft class is named by platform height, about 24.4 m, and adding roughly 2 m gives a working height of about 26 m. If your project spec is written in feet, send it as it is and we will match it to the right size.
How much can the 26 m man lift basket carry, and can it take glass panels?
Usually 230–300 kg, and some models allow more within a restricted zone close to the machine. That covers two workers with tools, but large glass or cladding panels go up on a crane or hoist, while the crew uses the man lift to fix and guide them.
Can a 26 m man lift work on sloping ground?
It can climb moderate ramps when stowed, but raising the basket is only allowed on near-level ground; the machine alarms and stops lifting when the tilt passes a limit that is usually 3–5 degrees. On a sloping site, prepare a level pad where it will set up.
Can a 26 m man lift be used to erect steel before the floor slabs are poured?
Yes, if the temporary tracks between the footings are compacted. The danger at this stage is open trenches and soft backfill around the concrete bases, so mark a firm route for the machine and keep it back from each excavation edge by at least roughly its depth.
